Sissy is 8 months old and I am just now having some success in getting her hair into a band. I just bought the Goody brand "ouchless" bands that look like plastic. Once I get it in, she has been leaving it alone. If I put a bow on top of it, the added weight (even if the bow is small) makes her aware of it and she'll shake her head till the whole thing comes out. I'm think I'm going to stick with the bands alone for several days (they come in lots of pastel, clear and bright colors) then begin adding the bows.
