I started calling for him "Bailey....wanna puppy treat" (that usually gets him runnin) and nothing, then I yell "Bailey.......KENNEL UP", he knows he is in trouble when I yell that. The next thing I hear is brakes on a car, several of them and I freak, yell for my husband who looks over the fence (which backs up to a very busy road) and there are 10 cars in either direction stopped because Bailey is laying in the middle of the road shaking. I've never seen my husband move so fast, he was up and over that 7' fence in no time, scooped him up, apologized to the cars and handed him over the fence to me. Oh I was so maddddddd!!!! He has never dug or tried to escape our yard before, why now? Does he want away from Morgan that badly? I am so thankful we found him because I didn't even think to put on his harness with his collar and tags and who knows who woulda swiped him up. Tommie said to me, do you just lay $1500.00 laying around all the time and not worry about it?? I said no, but I'll lay $3,000 down (both my dogs). He laughed and Bailey spent the night in doggie jail (his kennel).
At least I didn't have to pick up any dead animals tho!!! |
Courtney, you must have had a heart attack! Tucker got out once and took off running. Luckily I wasn't home and only heard about it later. Megan was crying and trying to chase him. One of her friends caught him down by the park a few blocks away. Now, he is trained not to go out when the door is open. He is very good about it. Except yesterday, when Sherry Lynn came. Tucker was barking his head off, she was trying to get in the door with two dogs on leashes and two gift bags in her other hand. Tucker walked out on the porch and started sniffing Dublin. Then I guess he realized he was out because he tried to go down the steps. Sherry Lynn had to use her leg to pin him against the step so I could grab him. That girl knows how to make an entrance!
