You definately need to pick a potty training method and stick to it. Do not go back and forth from wee wee pads to outside to bell. This will be very confusing for the puppy!!!! Pick a method and be extremely consistent about punishment and praise. I know they are small and cute and sweet and it is hard sometimes to punish them, but if the dog goes to the bathroom in the house and is not punished, then she will NEVER be trained!!!!!!! Even though you will spend a lot of time outside with her at first, if you are able, you need to take her outside every 2 hours. I promise you it will pay off in the long run. And really scold her when she goes potty inside....don't spank, but be very firm. Yorkies are so stubborn and you have to get across to them that YOU are the boss, not them. The only way to do that is to be consistent and firm with them. Good luck!!!! I am sure she will get the hang of it soon. |
