I skip the double band stuff - and only use one. It's way easier to get in and take out. when you get good - then try the more complicated stuff.
and also - just start small....try it a little every day - if he hates it take it out. Then try again the next day.....Try not to make it too tight - OR too loose
Little scrunchies are easy to work with also - but don't let him remove it because they tend to eat them and you don't want that.
Also - Try to make it fun for him....the more praise he gets the better he'll look forward to it. When I was getting bows on my girls the first times...I would always clap and tell them how cute they looked and they LOVED it....now they enjoy getting their hair done and sit like perfect angels.
