I think just give it some time and he should be okay. My Tiger is the same . . . winter here means snow and very cold so he is used to the pad. But now that it is spring, I always take him for a walk and he pees on the grass. He is however in a crate for 7 hours so he is ready to go . . the funny thing though is that I have a very long and steep driveway so it takes about 3 minutes running down and onto the side of the road to get to the grassy area and not once did he mark on my area Perhaps you need to make sure he really needs to go before you take him . . .eventually he'll get used to it. Tiger even lifts his leg and pees on practically all the same spots I fnd it so funny!
