The grandmother of my dogs, Ginger, does this also. I think Ginger does this to calm down and to relax. Does Mason have a "nervous", or "anxious" disposition?
The texture of the blanket might feel good on his gums, or maybe Mason likes the taste of your laundry detergent, lol. I'm not sure if its something you should lose sleep over, IMO.
