As far as Yorkie not working like they used to...
That's only because all too many people view them as TOYS and not real dogs. Yorkies are way to underestimated and under worked. A true Yorkshire TERRIER has that drive and desire (work ethic) to actually get off the lap and off the sofa, do something productive and still have that diversity to get back on that lap or sofa at the end of the night. Rather than staying there all day long.
I believe in working my Yorkies and they thrive off of it. We all make a wonderful team and because of it they are well adjusted members of society!
Work your Yorkie how you like. I personally choose Obedience, Schutzhund (yeah, you heard me correctly!) and Conformation (yes, it's a form of working too! It's hard to be keep looking so beautiful!). |
