Ok, all of my fur babies are chipped. All of my pet pups are either spayed or neutered.
I agree with this bill to a certain extent but then again, I dont. I agree that all pet owners should be responsible enough to have their pets chipped, fully vaccinated, spayed and/or neuter.
The problem here is, if this bill passes it will only be a matter of time before others surface that will dictate what we as owners can and can not do with OUR pets.
For instance; some feel that to declaw, crop, or dock a pet is inhumane, while some others dont. The opposing parties fight these bills on a daily basis and come so close to losing many times.
Pets are considered to be personal property. This is a good and BAD thing. This allows owners the rights over their dogs' solely, while at the same time it intersects with many well needed dog protection laws.
It's almost like a catch 22; damned if you do, damned if you dont. Overall, it's the breeders and owners that are the ones who should be responsible enough to do the right thing. If that alone were to be done, none of this would even matter-IMO.
