Crate a Yorkie puppy for 8 + hours?? You guys really do this? These little guys are supposed to eat 3 times a day aren't they?
How old is the pup in question?
I would continue with the xpen. I also agree about not leaving a bully stick. A bored puppy might eat the whole thing and be sick.
My only suggestions would be to get up early and take him for a long walk. If possible, come home and have lunch with him or arrange for someone else to spend a little time with him during the day.
On the weekends, use the time to work with him on proper xpen behavior (pooping on the pad and leaving it alone). Make sure he spends some time alone in the xpen while you are home.
Leaving a t-shirt that you slept or just walked in will give him some comfort too.
Yorkies are wonderful b/c they love their people so much. They are a pain to leave for the same reason. |
