Thank you everyone for responding. I was told by the vet to crate him during the day because I work. I tried not to crate him and let him run free in the kitchen with a baby gate blocking it off. He cried just the same! I have lots of things in his crate, baby blanket, and toys. I do leave the radio on for him. I even have an older dog Muffy that sleeps beside his crate. Still Chip just yelps and yelps.
