Default Interesting article on dog registries

I hear the word 'registered' mentioned alot and I wondered how many registries for dogs there were in North America. I found this excellent article on nopuppymills.com that explains why there are so many. It also lists the names of some of the more popular ones used.

I guess if someone were buying a puppy that the breeder stated was 'registered', it's up to the buyer to find out which registry is being referred to....it saddens me that puppy mills or non-ethical breeders will attempt to make themselves look legitimate by using the word 'registered'

'Registered' does not always mean that the puppy comes from an ethical place.

caveat emptor!!
