They do have "sugarless" peppermints - they look the same and taste the same. These may be a better solution. I'd have to do some research on this before I could be sure though.

Oh yes, I'm definitely not promoting giving candy to dogs.... especially Yorkies that are already prone to teeth problems. Chewing peppermint candy is just a cute trick that my husband saw a friend of his do with his Aust. Shepherd and thought it was cute. Stormie definitely only gets them on a "seldom basis" - and Tatum
never gets them. There are definitely better dental hygiene solutions out there. In fact, Tatum and Stormie both get the Science Diet T/D formula dog food for treats. It's been discussed here before.... it can be fed as a regular diet (although I think there are better foods out there than this) but we give it to them as treats. The vet thought it was a good idea too after I told him I had read about it.
