My yorkie is also 1 yr and 3.5 lbs. We started her on the mini and after 10 months switched her to the adult formula. We started by combining the two as an adjustment for her. Then after 2 weeks we switched her to the adult only. The adult formula bites are a little larger but she seems to have no problems at all.
