Thanks for the advice. This one is my "caboose"
I have 5 children and this one is the only one that got the vaccination. All the others had the chicken pox. I thought for sure I was home free......NOT! LOL I had 2 that came down with chicken pox while we were on vacation......nonetheless, at the BEACH!! It was horrible. One was on the verge of hospitalization.
I just so hope that my mom is immune. She went through 4 children and 19 grandchildren that had chicken pox and never got them. Why she didn't tell me that she never had them, I have NO idea.
Now I feel guilty

You've been given some wonderful advice on treating his symptoms (no cure, it has to run it's course). Use the Aveeno Oatmeal baths to help with the itching and give benadryl too (I'm sure your doctor told you about that). Main thing is to do what you can to help prevent him scratching them. Don't let him get too hot as that makes the itching worse - keep him cool. Oh, and lots and lots of ice cream and popsicles  Best of luck to you and your little one! |
