My little 8-week old arrived looking bald on the top of his head also.
On closer examination - I noticed that "yes, his hair was thin," but what made him look more bald than he was - was that the roots of the hair on the top of his head were a white/silver color. This made it look like we were seeing his scalp - but rather we were seeing these light-colored roots. So - check the roots...
****** I'm sure you don't have to worry about a thing.... My pup (with his thin puppy hair) is several months older now and has beautiful, much thicker hair. The hair on his head is a beautiful, thick, golden tan.

I copied this for you from the article about Yorkies' hair ---- it has made a lot of people feel better about their puppy's thin hair.......
"A puppy whose coat appears sparse or thin will, as an adult, have a thick, long coat of the correct fine silky, glossy texture. This coat’s growth is like a human’s hair, in that it is born with very little, but by adulthood will an abundance of hair, the quantity having doubled and redoubled all during puppyhood (or childhood) . . . "

This makes it sound like - what we want in a pup - is thin, sparse hair. Because, this is the type of hair that becomes what we want when they become adults. So - count yourself lucky! And, don't worry!
