Bailey has 3 barks, 1--when he is startled, ie--being awoken by a noise...2--when he is playing(with his 3 year old beagle brother)....and3--If he hears a noise outside too close to the house or the doorbell.....He is 4 months so we are just teaching him to stop when asked, and that way if we need to have him quiet then he will listen....he is doing great at it....So my guess would be that because they are sooo smart that they can be taught when it is ok to bark and when not to ( at least that is the case so far with Bailey)...hope I have been of some help ......and ....ahem....can't wait to hear about the new furbaby you will be getting in the future ...*cough**cough* LOL...because these babies are sooo dang easy to fall in love with....
