Yorkies coats can vary quite a bit. I have two. One is very straight and thin...he's 11 months old. His fur is very pretty when freshly brushed but gets pretty stringy. My other one is thicker and wavy but still was never fluffy like some pics you see posted. Actually some of the more fluffy ones are actually cottony coats and not so great. Your little one will still probably change a bit over time. If hes 3 1/2 lbs at 8 months he probably won't grow much more. maybe another pound or twe depending on how thin he is. Frame wise he is probably about done.
