Poor darling. I hope he's doing better. That was so scary for him. . . and you!!
It could be allergy related. My daughter's attacks come out of no where also, and it's related to something that she's allergic to. It's almost always the same time of year, and at night -- so we are pretty sure it's something that releases it's pollen in the spring.
