In my opinion.... I think it is more genetic then it is diet. I have 2 girls who are both blood sisters from the same litter. One has the beautiful silky coat and one is very cotteny.... all are on the same diet. I do believe a good diet is important and different diets effect each dog differently. But I think my silky coat girl carries that particular gene.......

I would love to hear more opinions on this.
