Rose There's obviously something amiss here...

The transition from puppy coat to adult coat shouldn't be this draumatic.
It sounds to me more like a dietary issue OR a genetically poor coat and what you're beginning to see now is what you're going to wind up w/. I'm more inclined to believe that if it's just thinning out of nowhere then you may be looking at either a health issue or a dietary issue. Either look to your vet for any health problems (thyroid and so on) or look to a nutritionalist (typically NOT your vet) for advice on which food is better for your paticular dog. You may be feeding a high quality kibble now, or even may be cooking for him, but if he/she is looking like this then there is something certainly lacking or that he/she is getting too much of! I'd start w/ your vet first.

But again, adult coat coming in shouldn't behave like this at all.
