I am fighting the ant battle right now also. It never ends. I think my house is on top of a huge ant hill. They come up through every odd little crack or crevace they can find. Every time I stop them they find a new way in a day or two later. Anyway, about the dog food bowl....I put the dog food bowl inside of a larger shallow bowl with water in it so the dog food is surrounded by water. Doesn't solve the ants in the house issue but keeps them out of the dogs food.
