You should definitely use something non-toxic. I know ants are a real pain!!! I got something that works very well - it's Victor Poison Free Ant and Roach killer - I may have gotten it home depot - I can't remember! It's a very strong mint spray that kills them on contact - but it is non-poisonous. What you really need to do is find the source of the ants. If they are coming in from the outside, then treat the foundation of your house so that they do not come in. You can use orange oil or diatamaceous earth - both found at nurseries that sell organic products. On your counter tops you can use a bait such as a borax and mint jelly. The ants will eat it and die. BUT it is toxic to our babies so you cannot let it fall off the counter tops. I got some bait for sweet eating ants (the little tiny ones that get on the cabinet and in the pantry) at home depot. It looks like a clear liquid that you put a few drops on paper and put the paper on the counter tops and in the pantry and the ants eat it and the borax in the solution will kill them. It's very important to not use toxins around your babies.

Oh and I would definitely NOT leave him in the enclosed area with the smell of raid - it could make him sick or burn his lungs.
