I use Frontline on all my babies and I have one who does what you described- she runs around the house freaking out and acting "paranoid" for hours after I give her a treatment. I really hate giving her a treatment for that reason. I have tried other products and she reacts the same way. I even tried splitting the dose in two- that didn't make a difference.
Whenever I have tried other products I have found fleas and/or ticks on my dogs- so I stick with the Frontline. I figure if she is going to react that way no matter what, might as well use what I feel works the best.
By the way, this last time I gave her a treatment, immediately afterward that I took her for a walk to "distract her". That seemed to work- when we got back home about 45 minutes later she seemed to be acting like her normal self. So I have to wonder if it is a chemical reaction to the Frontline, or just her being upset/nervous because she can feel it and not rub it off... |
