I do not favor all 'designer' dogs. The only reason they should cross two breeds is to bring out the best in them. Some mixes are just that mixes, there are no added benefits for mixing two breeds like there would be with a yorkie poo. For instance, one of the main reasons certain breeds are crossed such as a yorkie poo, is because they tend to have fewer genetic health problems than purebreeds. Another reason they mix breeds, especially poodles is for getting a dog that has a soft or silky coat that does not shed. Also when combining the two breeds, you can get the personality of two great breeds. Such as the determination, self confidence (big dog in a little package), and constant companionship of a yorkie, the intelligence, loyalty and wit from a poodle. I guess you have to consider what you want out of the dog and whether mixing those two breeds would give you it. There is nothing wrong with getting a yorkie poo as long as you get one from a responsible and well respected breeder. After all, you don't want to buy the puppy from a puppy mill. I know many people disagree with mixing two breeds, they only want purebreds and don't believe there should be people buying or breeding these mix dogs, but I am not one of them. There are alot of people who own these designer dogs and would rather have them than a purebred. I happen to like both, purebreds and designer dogs (not all designer dogs, just certain ones that add to the breed). I do agree that the cockapoo should have been spayed. Planned breeding is the only way it should be, not by an accident. I happen to own a yorkie poo and I love her to death.
