My Topher came down with a bad cough a couple of weeks after I got him. My groomer thought that it sounded like kennel cough and at first the receptionist at the vet's office thought so too....it ended up that Topher had TONSILLITIS. He was treated with antibiotics for two weeks and the cough is gone and his tonsils have cleared up.
Make sure that when the vet is checking for kennel cough that he/she also THOROUGHLY examines the tonsils!
