Maybe you can concentrate lots of attention on Mickey while your parents are oohing and ahhing over the new puppy. That way maybe Mickey won't be so jealous, your relationship with him will be cemented, your parents will have lots of time with the new puppy, and then maybe when you and Mickey get used to the idea the two of you can get to know the newcomer together. |
