I have never used a collar. My sister's dog has a collapse trachea due to a collar. I use a harness. I bought my harness from cloak&dawggie. They have extra small. Not sure how much your baby weighs. But when I bought mine, she was 2 lbs 3 ounces. She is now a good 3 1/2 pounds at 4 months.
