Though obviously not an ideal situation, there is some good in the fact that the older pup will have some socialization influence on the younger one, so it is better than none at all. I would do everything in my power to try to convince the breeder of this 6 week old pup to let it remain with it's littermates(if there are any)for at least another month, even if the mother is not in the picture. It really does make a big difference long term.
