Default Well, here's what I'D do anyway...

If he's in the beginning phases of K.C and the vet couldn't massage his throat and illicit a cough, that's pretty normal. The massaging technique is typically to show that the trachea is irritated and there should be other signs. Honestly, to me it sounds like that could be the case- since he's also got a loose stool. What was his temperature? I'm not a vet, just someone who's experienced w/ a kennel environment and all the ailments that go w/ it.

Keep an eye on him (of course) and I would absolutely give him the medicine if that's what your vet says to do. If he were my dog, however...I'd actually wait a few more days to see if his symptoms progress. Your call. This is just my opinion!
