Last night Jaxon started having a terrible sounding cough so I took him to the vet today. I'm a fairly new Yorkie owner and worry about him so much! Anyway, the vet took a look at him, couldn't get him to cough, took his temperature (which was normal) and felt it was kennel cough based on the way I described it. I'm wondering if this is how other Yorkies have been diagnosed as well??

He's had kind of runny poops since yesterday and hasn't been eating his canned food at all.
He is starting Clavamox (amoxicillan) for 7 days, plus they also gave me Torbutrol tablets for the cough, just on an as needed basis.
Just wondering if this sounds like what you've been through? I hate to medicate him if it's not really needed. He is 6 months and 3.5 lbs.
