I only glanced through the other posts, but it doesn't look like anybody has suggested this. To me it is the obvious solution.

ALWAYS pick your dog up when you answer the door! We did this with Pivo and now he knows that anyone who comes to the door will most likely be coming inside anyway, so he learned. Especially since you only seem to have one runner - pick her up! Problem solved!
