I know what you mean. Sherman is my first small dog (he is 5#). We weren't in the market for a yorkie, but my co-worker had puppies and I just went to look. I fell in love with him and am so glad I got him. But, it has been a learning experience. He is so tiny and we have a 65# golden retriever. Luckily, they get along great and the golden is very gentle with him. But I worry about him getting stepped on or falling. We had a very close call when he was only a couple of months old. I was walking the golden and had Sherman in a pouch b/c he was still too little for even a harness. Well, he wiggled out and fell onto the concrete. I rushed him to the vet and it is a miracle he did not break anything or suffer any injury. From that moment I have tried to be as careful as possible with him, but accidents can happen. Whenever people ask me about yorkies, I always tell them the down side of having a tiny dog and encourage them to look for the larger size. Of course, I would never trade Sherman for the world but it's hard when you can't protect them from everything! I'm glad your little one is alright!
