Cup Hills Science Diet Id-

"ID"- Intestinal Diet. It's a prescription dietary formula and in my opinion should ONLY be fed if neccessary. There are other alternatives, many cheaper to take care of a dog w/ intestinal issues. If you're curious, while I'm NOT a nutritionalist (oh, and most vets aren't either!), I do work w/ a nutritionalist. So, if you're curious about alternatives, please contact me!
Science diet is a brand of food "Developed by veterinarian" (and therefore reccommended by vets), but Science Diet was originally developed as a short term food and was never intended for long term use. It was the only commercial grade dry dog food available that provided just enough nutrition to keep a downed dog alive (before surgery and after, until they recovered fully) while not being so rich that it would upset the intestianl tract. So, w/ all the fillers this brand-and there are a lot of new Science Diet " " specialty bags, they're pretty equal, I wouldn't ever feed it to my dog if it could be avoided. You've got options and I'd research them!
