Edie had leather ear about 3 years ago on both ears. It was exactly as you described. We applied an antibiotic cream prescribed by her vet. It took several months before the hair grew back on one ear. On the other ear, hair never did grow back on the edge of her ear, but it is hardly noticable. The edge of her ear stayed dark and there is no hair, but otherwise appears to be healthy.
Leather ear can also affect the bridge of the nose, but this did not happen to Edie. |
