Brandy has what appears to be "leather ear". I have done the "search" thing here on YT and "googled" it and amazingly there is really not that much info available. I'm sure its not ear mites since it's never been itchy and the ear canals are absolutely clean with no coffee ground type dirt. Just the ear leather itself is dark in places (mostly around the edges) and some loss of fur which would fall out in little clumps with black stuff on the bottom. Like little plugs of 10-15 hairs held together with a little black clump at the bottom. So after reading what I could find I am cleaning her ears with alcohol soaked cotton balls and coating them with lotrimin 1% cream. I've been doing this for about a week. No more little hair clumps appear to be falling out. I can't see any obvious lightening of the skin or any new hair growth though. Has anyones yorkie had this condition and they've cured it? If so, how long before the blackness went away and new hair started to grow?
