i wouldn't say pet insurance is completely useless. you just have to read your policy carefully and understand exactly what's covered and what's not. having pet insurance can help you with the cost of things like treatment due ot snake bites, broken legs, injestion of foreign objects, poisoning due to injestion of household chemicals, a cold, urinary tract infection, ear infection, ulcer, etc. all of those are possibilities in the lifetime of a pet and cannot be predicted.

but as many will attest, insurance will not take care of every and anything. like everything else with our pets, it's important to research and be educated on what you're purchasing before you purchase it. pet insurance is no exception.
