It is pretty hard to tell what the end result in colour will be on a Yorkie unless you get one at 7 or 8 months of age. Even at that age one that you think will stay dark will go very light later. The parents may be an indication, but not always. Two silk coats can still produce a soft coat, two light coat can possibly produce a dark although it likely wouldn't. A blue coat is darker than a silvery colour. The legs and face can vary from a gold to a tan, solid to a shaded, with shaded being the most desirable for a breeding program.
As a breeder, when I sell a pup for pet, they are over 4 months and I can only give a ballpark idea of size and a best guess for colour and I make sure the buyer understands that.
