It is common in yorkies for the baby teeth to need extraction. It is usually done in conjunction with neutering and spaying at 6 months of age or so. My vet seemed to think the sooner the better for the health of the teeth. Yorkies are also known to have problem teeth and periodontal disease which can lead to problems in their later years.
