There are a couple more chocolates on this site. It is caused by a double recessive gene passed down from the parents. You don't see many of them because they are not "breed standard". Copper's litter had 2 chocolates and 2 normal colored ones. I think that most serious breeders do away with the chocolates at birth. However, I think they are very pretty. Copper is a very sweet dog with a wonderful temperment! I wouldn't trade him for the world!!!!!
My little one is a ball of fire!!! She gives Copper a run for his money! He is happy for me to hold her occasoinally so he can get some rest! Ha, ha. She is really sweet, too, but very much still a puppy at 7 months. Copper is just over a year old. Thanks for your reply.
