I know others already mentioned this, but a UTI or Kidney disfunction is what popped into my head.

I had a cat that was constantly urinating. The vet did a urinalysis and discovered he had some crystals form in his bladder and they were making it difficult for him to go. He has to be on prescription food for the rest of his life now!

Take him to the vet. At least then you can determine if it's a medical problem or a true behavioral issue...
