My two yorkie boys were fighting, got distracted to supervise, and posted wrong reply.

Anyway, has his drinking volume increased?

Could be Urinary Tract Infection.

Have vet check him out. You don't want it to go on too long.
If you could get a urine sample to bring with you, that would be great.

(let him go on the floor where the pee-pee pads are placed, and suck up as much as you can with a 5ml syringe - the one you give liquid meds to children with)

May need blood work to rule out kidney disfuction.

Diabetes usually does not occur until age 6 or 7, but can earlier. They will check for that also.
