I noticed this a couple of months ago and it got worse and worse. He was really well trained and always went on his weewee pad. However, about 2-3 months ago, Mickey started peeing on our kitchen rug that we recently purchased (because our floor is really cold in the winter). We decided to take the rug away, but he continued peeing around the kitchen. We found it odd because he was neutered about a year ago and he stopped marking his territory right away. Is this a return of the marking phase?
The problem got worse as he started peeing all over the house as well. The strange part is that he would also go on his weewee pad. About two weeks ago, the problem hit an all time low. For the first time ever, Mickey started to pee in my bed! I put a cover on the bed and so far he only went once.
The level of stress in our house has gone up due to various reasons and I thought that Mickey might be picking up on this stress and acting out. Is that possible? Does anyone have any idea why he's doing this? Should I be worried? I considered taking him to the vet, but I wasn't sure if this is a medical thing.
