Oscar had something similar a couple of weeks ago. But his was accompanied with a very growly belly and he would run in pain when it hit him. The vet I took him to said his stool was very sticky and had a lot of fibery stuff...something he ate in the yard. He told me to give him soft scrambled eggs and cottage cheese...he also said a little velveeta would not hurt him. I also gave him 1/4 of a Pepcid AC 10 mg...that would be 2.5 mg of that. I only gave it to him one time...that is what the vet said to do...next day he was fine. He was never dragging his butt tho...he just could not poop at all and refused to eat anything. I hope your little guy is better. I had a Chihuahua that used to get really red on his hiney and it was anal glands gone bad...might want to check that out as well.
