Some of the most wonderful people in the world are "overweight."
And - again as far as any encounters go that we ever have with other people regarding our Yorkies or anything else - I still believe being nice and polite will get us further than becoming defensive and bad mannered ourselves.
The way we behave defines the type of person we are -- not the other person. I would rather walk away from anything knowing that I was well mannered, polite, and MATURE ---than become like the type of person I am complaining about.
The nicest people I know and the ones I respect the most - would really just walk away. They may answer politely, but they wouldn't lower themselves to argue with a stranger in a public place. And - don't we all know that this would be the most disappointing reponse a person trying to start an arguement could get!!!! These people just love it if you argue back. If you don't, they almost don't know what to do........

PS: It amazes me that we may have a discussion on whether or not it is polite to call overweight people "heifers." I can't believe we don't all know better than this............................... I know most of us do.... |
I stated in my story that I will not be polite if this happens again, meaning this time I was not rude. Also As for answering in a nice way that what I did with her first reply. Then I turned away and kept walking and she kept directing herself to me. What was I to do? Runaway.

I really managed myself pretty well for the way in which she was pushing my buttons.
