We used to breed and show our German Shepherds, and they were also all pets and part of the family. Even when we had puppies, we played with all of them and loved and socialized them.We always felt it made them better pets or even working dogs when they left us. We bred for temperment first and foremost, even guaranteed temperment in our purchase contracts. And the only way to do that was to live with the dogs, not keep them in a kennel with minimal human contact. |
