When your dog has free run of the house (you can still keep her somewhat restricted). Have her on a leash and keep her relatively close to where you are. I don't mean a leash that you have to hold on to....I just mean a rope (or something) that is about about 8 feet long that you can tie somewhere and keep her in whatever area you or the rest of the family is in. This will keep her from running all over the house - and she'll be happy to be with the rest of you.

And - if she's especially peppy and wants to run around alot - I think you would be smart to sedate her (as the vet mentioned) for a while. He'll give you something that will probably only calm her down --- and isn't that the way you want her to be.....just a little calmer!!!!
