Thumbs up Update on Tucker

Well, we just got home about an hour ago, and I'm happy to say things are looking up! We saw Dr. Heidi Hottinger, she was great! She is a specialist with liver shunts, and told us all about the procedure, how she has developed a way for there to be very little risk (using a celophane band to close the shunt). We are all so relieved. Until his surgery in the first of June we are going to put him on L/D so he has enough protein. With U/D (which he is on now) he does not get enough and has to break down his muscle mass to have enough, . So, he might have to be catheterized a couple times in the next 2 months to clean out his bladder because of crystals, but other than that the whole outcome is very positive!!! I'm so excited, I can't wait for him to feel better!! He will stay at the vet for a total of 48 hours after the surgery so that she can monitor him, so that's good. And she also gave us a very reasonable cost, which makes this whole process so much easier lol. And let me tell you.. travel is NOT Tucker's thing haha, he whined and could not get comfy the whole time, I felt so bad. But he finally settled down, and on the way home we went by the school where my Dad is the principal, so Tucker got to go see his daddy lol. I'm very happy with the whole outcome, and anxious to see what happens. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers
