it's easier to do ai (for the stud owner) b/c the bitch should have a smear to advise when the timing is right and all they have to do is inseminate her. no dealing with another pup to see if they can mate or will have each other or even if they get along. BUT....you should still see the pup and ask all the important questions whether you are the stud owner or the bitch.
