I'm new here and still have a lot to learn about Yorkies and breeding and all that fun stuff, but one thing I have picked up along the way is that if cost is a big concern for you, you may want to re-think breeding dogs, especially Yorkies. Buying the dams and stub are only the beginning, they should see a vet for at least two sets of shots and worming and check-ups...not to mention tail docking, dew claw removal and, I haven't looked into it too much - breeding is low on my list of priorities right now, but isn't there an ear trimming proceedure in there somewhere as well? None of which I would attempt at home. It can add up quicker than a lot of people realize when they're blinded by the sale price that some of the dogs are fetching.
I'm certain that nobody has ever set out to become the sort of breeder that you had to deal with with your little boy. But costs and lack of time can quickly make you into one if you're not careful. I'm also certain that no one here is trying to be mean or political, we just have the best interest of this beautiful breed at heart.
Good luck with your new little boy!
