When I first was a new owner, i used the johnson's baby shampoo and the pantene pro-v conditioner and that worked really well. I know that our shampoo has a different pH balance than dog shampoo, but it really didn't have any ill effect on my dogs. and I was using it for a long while until I found out about the Chris Christensen products which have truely impressed me (and i still use them).

I know that my own hair tends to dry out when i use neutrogena or pantene pro-v products because i've heard they have silicone in them and they ultimately dry out the hair, that's why people suggest to switch off shampoo's every 6 months. maybe it's the neutrogena that's making it so dry?

there is a new thread on the Grooming section if you'd like to see the reviews of all shampoo's and conditioners and different coat types.

here is the link to the forums http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=45

and here is the direct link to the thread
